Gustavo Rodriguez, 2D and 3D Animator

Gustavo Rodriguez is a BFA graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts, with a major in Animation. He is passionate about animation and digital media and have created multiple projects employing different sets of skills, from storyboarding and modeling to animating and rendering. He focuses on abstract storytelling, using a successive presentation of imagery to convey narration through the contrast and comparison of the actions presented.  

2D Animation:  His 2D work revolves around Smith Micro Anime Studio Pro (Moho), Hand-drawn, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Flash/Animate.

3D Animation:  His 3D work is performed using Blender and Autodesk Maya, with a focus on different techniques including Hard-surface Modeling, 3D Reconstruction, Fluid Simulation (e.g. Smoke/Water), Satellite-based Topology, Procedural-generated Materials/Objects, Terrain Modeling, PBR Materials and Mocap. 

The artist is also experienced in Live-Action production, including Camera/Lightning set-up, editing and on-site interviews using industry standard software.  

Editing and Audio Mixing is done with Final Cut pro, Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
